Digimon Forever - Beelzemon

Alright, here's Beelzemon! I worked so freakin' hard on this--I think I redrew this pose about 13 times before I got to where I wanted it. I don't think anyone wants to see the first attempt, heh! Beelzemon is Charissa's Digimon partner, standing at about 10 or 11 feet tall or so, with a pink ribbon around his belts rather than the typical red bandanna (it's something from his childhood that he's kept all this time, which shall be explained someday!) and gray eyes. c: Now onto his blurb! He has quite a bit to his life-story but I don't wish to explain it all here...so I hope you guys still like it and get a good feel of who Beelzemon is as a character and get how important his past is in the build-up of who he is today. He's a much more psychologically complex character and I really wish to examine that more in the future, I'll probably write more blurb or draw scenes of him in the future!

Beelzemon, one of the Great Demon Lords, is known as one of the most formidable Digimon in all of the Digital World. He has faced abandonment and loss in his lfietime, but rather than allowing the sadness to consume him it's only encouraged him to grow stronger. 

Beelzemon first began his life partnered to a tamer named Laura--she had selected his egg as her own, but was supremely disappointed by the fact that he wasn't as strong as she had thought. After years of trying to train him to no avail, she ended up abandoning him as an Impmon. Impmon soon met a lone Cupiemon who had been born outside of one of the Villages, and so they began to travel together. He eventually fell in love with her, but he soon found that the love was unrequited when she formed a crush on an exuberant MetalMamemon. He grew more and more distant from his closest friend and MetalMamemon, and once they were corned by a large dangerous Digimon in a fight he decided to selfishly turn his back and let them fight alone, since he felt that he was no longer needed. It was in that battle that MetalMamemon perished protecting Cupiemon, and soon after Cupiemon began hopelessly wandering. Impmon watched over her from afar, often leaving her food and treats, but she seemed to get sadder by the day. He eventually woke up to her missing, and as he ran around looking for her along a river, he saw her high on the cliff above... And it was then that she took her own life, too consumed by sadness to do otherwise. The only thing left behind was a soft pink ribbon Impmon had given her as a gift, which he still carries with him to this day. He was eventually taken in by a fatherly (if not a little rude) RustTyrannomon, where he digivolved to Devimon and became a part of his bounty hunting crew. For the first time in his life, Devimon really felt like he had a family, and for many years he happily traveled with them, journeying around the Digital World and completing their jobs. When RustTyrannomon and his lover, BeeleStarrmon perished in battle, Devimon digivolved to NeoDevimon and was able to defeat one of their opponents, while the other was defeated by the incoming Lord Daemon. After NeoDevimon degenerated, Daemon told him that it was rare that he had seen that much power and anger in a Digimon...and that he wanted him in his armies. His two closest friends now dead and the rest of team separated across the Digital World, Devimon decided that he wanted to be strong enough that nothing like this would ever happen again--he was sick of being abandoned and losing those he cared about. 

As Devimon he became a soldier in Lord Daemon’s army, and as he grew in strength and digivolved instead to SkullSatamon Lord Lucemon took notice of his determination and power. Taken under his wing and personally trained, Skullsatamon grew to be incredibly powerful and dangerous, his hunger for power only growing. After digivolving and ascending to the rank of Demon Lord and being granted his seal of power, he became Lucemon's right hand--terrorizing the Digital World whenever his leader called for it. As Gluttony, he was always hungry for more and more power, and devouring digicores and absorbing data was one of the best ways to do both that and garner respect...or fear. At some point he became intrigued by the Royal Knight Magnamon and ultimately became smitten with her. After years of toying with her, he eventually convinced her to listen to him and a dangerous love formed–though this was put to an end twice, first by Beelzemon’s own selfish deeds and second by Lucemon’s threats to punish Beelzemon’s disloyalty by destroying her if he did not obey.

He first kidnapped Charissa when he learned that she was a Digidestined, though he was surprised to find that she was apparently a normal human–no Digivice, no Digimon, nothing. Keeping her captive, he grew fond of her and enjoyed her company, though he soon returned her to freedom without another word. He was intrigued by her kindness even as a prisoner, though he still knew little to nothing about her. Curious about humans and their world after meeting the girl, he chose to degenerate to Botamon to get a closer look at her… After spending enough time with her to digivolve to Impmon, he realized he truly cared for this human and couldn’t understand the strange bond he shared with her–even as someone who treasured the friends he had lost and the few friends he still had, he much preferred battle to any sort of companionship. After revealing himself and nearly killing her friends in the process of trying to bring her to his tower once more, he was inevitably captured. Charissa couldn’t deny the bond she shared with him either, and was willing to give him a second chance and remain his friend. King OmegaShoutmon was delighted by this, intrigued by their curious friendship and allowed Beelzemon to go free, though he was to be kept strictly under watch. Beelzemon agreed and stayed with her, though he mostly remained silent and curious for the following week. King OmegaShoutmon assigned Seraphimon and Cherubimon to protect the Digidestined for this time, unsure of their future.

Lucemon, hearing of Beelzemon’s actions, grew angered and came to retrieve his Demon Lord, planning to kill the human and get her out of the way… Beelzemon refused to let this happen though, and instead chose to defend her and oppose Lucemon. It was in this battle that Lucemon fatally wounded Cherubimon and killed Seraphimon, absorbing his data. When Lucemon brought Beelzemon close to death and advanced on the human, both their hearts were filled with love and worry for the other–and from their hearts, her Digivice was born. The powerful light from the Digivice allowed Beelzemon to enter Blast Mode and fend off Lucemon, even using a strange power to extract Seraphimon’s data and convert his digitama into a digi-egg. From this moment on, the two could no longer deny themselves and became inseparable partners.

As the Demon Lord of Gluttony, he has a penchant for devouring digicores and absorbing data (which his human partner discourages greatly and continues to try and halt the behavior) and can never say no to a fight or the prospect of power. Since finding his human partner, he’s been learning about love and the whole true friendship-thing more, and finds a lot of happiness in being with those he cares for. Even so, he was heavily conditioned in both the armies and by Lucemon to be a malefactor, and even after being with his team for so long it can be difficult to shake that conditioning and he tends to keep both that and most of his emotions under wraps as a result. While he’s quite ferocious in battle and takes great pride in his strength, he’s actually quite the fun-loving individual. He's very prone to doing whatever he thinks is "fun" and trying to have a self-indulgent good time more than anything. Incredibly energetic and egocentric, he may be an asshole, but he’s a good asshole–steadily learning to be the hero rather than the villain.
